Art

Art students are dedicated, passionate and creative individuals who are supported, guided, and challenged by some of the finest faculty — practicing artists and designers. They recognize that design and the visual arts play significant roles in inspiring solutions to social and environmental concerns, and that they are faced with unprecedented opportunities to shape our world and generate meaningful responses to social, and environmental challenges.

Art students are part of the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts, a diverse community of architects, artists and designers dedicated to excellence in learning, creative activity, research, and exhibition. The unique structure of the school builds on the strength of each unit — Art, Architecture and Museum — and draws on the resources of the university to create new knowledge, and address the social and environmental challenges of our time.

College of Art graduates are creative, culturally aware and ready to engage in applying the tools of their fields to effect positive change through their careers.
